30 Day Yoga Challenge: Want vs Need

 The first class of this challenge I had an amazing epiphany about what I have wanted and what I needed to get back into shape and to commit to a healthier lifestyle, one that I could maintain for the rest of my life. I wanted ease, but what I NEEDED was to challenge myself. Half way through the class the instructor started to talk us through a difficult pose. He reminded us to listen to our bodies and at the same time we needed to challenge ourselves, to use our breath to stay in the pose. Often, we mistake the mind for the body and the mind usually wants to get out of the pose before the body does. I realized at that moment that my mind and my body were aligned. I wanted to work hard to get to my goal as much as I needed to. There is that inexplicable feeling of just knowing that you are right where you need to be, and where I wanted and needed to be was right hear, on my mat, working my ass off.
